Ullapool		Directions Ullapool is just 55 miles north-west of Inverness by road. Ullapool is well signposted from Inverness and you follow the A835 until you arrive at Ullapool. As you enter the town just keep the sea to your left and drive along Shore Street towards the harbour. When you take the 2nd right into West Lane - Strath Cottage is the 1st entrance on the left. The maps below show the cottage's exact position. Ullapool is the main ferry port linking mainland Scotland with the western isles and offers a regular car service (weather permitting) to Stornoway and the Hebrides. Ullapool itself is a good centre from which to explore north to Achiltibuie or further beyond to Durness and the north coast of Scotland, or southwest to Gairloch or northeast to Lairg and Loch Shin.
